"Repository Unrelated" error when pushing/pulling

hg push / hg pull works on command line.

In my case the remote repository location is:

https://jeffk:x12345@localhost/hg/hello

"Show Details" says:

pushing to https://jeffk:***@localhost/hg/hello
searching for changes

when I do hg push on command line in same dir, I get

pushing to https://jeffk:***@localhost/hg/hello
searching for changes
no changes found

[jeffk@…]

Oh, also, I am using the latest 1.01 mercurial:

$ hg --version
Mercurial Distributed SCM (version e81d2bd66908)
